In Greene County district county Luke Stephen Peter Pettey, 28, of Des Moines was sentenced Dec. 9 to two days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of carrying weapons. He was given credit for time served in the Polk County jail on other charges. Pettey was fined $700 with a $245 surcharge. A charge of possession of methamphetamine was dismissed, as was a magistrate case in which Pettey was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Persons pleaded not guilty in district court as follows: Thomas Michael Launderville, 40, of Grand Junction, operating while intoxicated- second offense; and Kole Alexander Higgins, 25, of Grand Junction, driving while license barred. A trial date of Feb. 18 was set for Launderville. A trial date of Jan. 28 was set for Higgins.
Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Jerry Lavern Miller, 66, of Grand Junction, domestic abuse assault display/use weapon; Jessica Jo Peterson, 36, of Ogden, unlawful possession of prescription drug and burglary- third degree (motor vehicle), and in a separate case, burglary- third degree.
